SafetyCall International’s Rick Kingston, PharmD, President of Regulatory & Scientific Affairs, will be speaking at the upcoming Dietary Supplements Regulatory Virtual Summit. This is the 5th joint regulatory summit sponsored by trade associations representing companies in this market space, including: AHPA, CHPA, CRN, NPA and UNPA, and in collaboration with the FDA. It is designed to update the industry on all new regulatory developments affecting dietary supplements and features nationally recognized experts in the field along with top FDA officials. This industry-wide event will take place Wednesday, September 16th. FDA officials and professionals in the industry will be speaking on topics from FDA priorities to digital marketing and social media. In addition, there will be a session on Cannabis/CBD and Hemp extract which is currently in the news with the pending new legislation.
Dr. Kingston’s presentation will feature details about Minnesota’s medical cannabis program including the adverse event experience and how it may impact future FDA regulated CBD products. He will present what SafetyCall International’s data shows regarding the safety of cannabis containing products including those that contain CBD as the dominant constituent.
As a cofounder of SafetyCall International, Dr. Kingston has brought over 30 years of experience to SafetyCall International and in the fields of clinical toxicology and pharmacology, poison control, product post-market surveillance, and drug and dietary supplement safety. He has advised the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Federal Department of Labor and Industry (OSHA), the Federal Department of Health & Human Services (HRSA), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on wide ranging topics related to product safety.
