1. How long have you worked for SafetyCall International?
Since January 2, 2022.
2.What does your job entail (brief overview of your job) ?
I answer Pet Poison Helpline and Animal Nurseline calls. These calls come from pet owners concerned either about a potential toxin exposure or a health concern for their pet(s).
3.What is your favorite aspect of your job?
I love being able to help scared pet owners by providing them the information and resources they need to get help for their pet or putting their mind at ease that their pet isn’t in danger. The constant variety also keeps the job interesting – no two calls are the same!
4.What is the best career lesson that you have learned?
Always be open to learning and growing, and avoid getting to set in your ways or becoming resistant to change.
5.Which 3 of SafetyCall’s 7 core values and principles do you resonate the most with and why? (Respect, Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Teamwork, Professionalism and loyalty)
Integrity: This is essential to functioning. If you can’t be counted on to be honest and function with integrity, the rest really doesn’t matter.
Compassion: Whether it’s dealing with a scared pet owner or a colleague having a hard time, compassion usually helps make any interaction a little more pleasant.
Professionalism: Good information coming from someone acting unprofessionally is automatically devalued by how the information is presented. It’s the whole “you get more flies with honey than vinegar” principle.
