Stephen H. LeMaster, PharmD, MPH, DABT
Dr. Steve LeMaster is a Senior Clinical Toxicologist with SafetyCall International and has been with the organization since 2004. He also holds an academic appointment at the rank of Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy where he lectures in the course, Clinical Toxicology, and serves as a Clinical Preceptor to 4th year pharmacy students completing Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience clerkships.
Dr. LeMaster has a Bachelor of Science (BS) from Northern Illinois University and completed his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree at the University of Minnesota in 2005. He completed his post-graduate residency training in Clinical Toxicology at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN, SafetyCall International and the College of Pharmacy at the University of Minnesota. He went on to earn a Master of Public Heath (MPH) degree also at the University of Minnesota in 2008. He is board-certified by the American Board of Toxicology (DABT).
At present, he manages cases from the public, health care providers, regulators and others on behalf of SafetyCall client companies, coaches, trains and provides ongoing continuing education to call center staff, and provides expert project support to other senior staff on a wide variety of regulatory, product safety assessment and medico-legal activities and is actively involved with the senior management team.
His research interests include: clinical and corporate toxicology, risk assessment / management, epidemiology of household and industrial products injury events, post-market product safety surveillance and product stewardship. He is licensed to practice Pharmacy in the State of Minnesota and is also a Certified Specialist in Poison Information (CSPI) through the American Association of Poison Control Centers.
